Local with Lisa Lisa Chan Carnazzo April 15, 2025
Chris: How's it going, Lisa?
Chris: I took a home economics class in high school, and my teachers said, “Chris you're having a lot of fun with this. You should check this program out.” And fast forward. I came out to California. I was living in Pennsylvania, that’s where I’m originally from and had some of the local treats and really fell in love with the people and the food.
Chris: It's literally everything. It determines how we sleep, how we think, and how we grow. Literally everything. I think it's astronomical.
Chris: Yeah. Great question. So, one of the biggest things that we focus on in the beginning is asking a lot of questions to collect as much data as possible to make sure that for the hybrid families, where there's a vegan and a vegetarian and a paleo family member, to essentially just make sure that that's available, but we also deconstruct the meals so that way when they are ready to be reheated or assembled, you can remove the chicken…
Chris: So, all of our clients do their own grocery shopping. Part of the reason why I really, really advocate that is because I feel that it's important to make sure that we have this relationship to the food that we're consuming. One of the best ways to do that is to vote with our dollars by doing your own grocery shopping at the local farmer's market, or, going to the local store that's, you know, locally owned by a small business
Chris: Yes. So the main shebang, the meat and potatoes, if you will, pun intended, is primarily, the food prep just to really set up our families to be successful throughout the week. And I'd say within the next few months, we're going to have some more availability to do private events, cooking classes, etc..
Chris: We're not cheap. But we're also not the most expensive, as well. I'm a firm believer that we're gonna have to invest in our health at some point. It's either later on in life or we can do it now via going to the gym and eating healthier. And if you can't do that, it's having someone like us, like me and my team, come in and help you make sure that you meet those health goals.
Chris: Yeah. It's been so amazing, Lisa. I wasn’t shocked, but it’s so out of left field in terms of how much people will support you when you're doing what you love. It's been an honor and a pleasure to take care of these families who really need that support to live better, to feel better, to have the extra time. I'm literally living the dream by being able to support the local community.
Chris: Well, thanks for talking to me, my pleasure.
